Qigong is an umbrella term for a different mind-body practice that improves physical and mental health through posture, movement, stretching, breathing technique, massage, sound, visualisation and mental focus.
The practices taught are a mixture of Yang Sheng (nurturing life) and martial Qigong and include static and dynamic methods, which will deepen with practice.
The classes are focused on learning a core set such as the Ba Dian Jin initially as just physical movements with detailed breathing patterns. Once this is internalised, more detail is added to the different elements.
This approach of stacking or teaching the practices in a way where more detail and understanding are added to the previous methods allows for a solid development of skill and knowledge.
Most people start learning a five element health set, the six sound practices, massage and simple breath and meditation practices.
